Tap any zone to set a timer

Every burner, oven, rack, and griddle is tappable. Tap one, pick a duration, and the timer starts counting down. The zone glows orange while running and green when done.

General timers (free timers)

Tap the + button in the nav bar or the + Add button in the Timers card to create standalone timers for things like steak resting, bread proofing, or cookie chilling. Pick from the preset grid or set a custom time.

Quick presets

When adding a general timer, you'll see a grid of common cooking presets with custom icons and default times. Tap any preset to start it immediately — no extra configuration needed.

Kitchen layout

Tap the ⚙ gear icon in the nav bar to change your stove, oven, and grill configuration. Choose from presets like 4-burner, 6-burner, double oven, 3-burner gas grill, charcoal kettle, or flat top. Your layout is saved automatically.

How voice works here

Voice recognition runs entirely in your browser using the Web Speech API. Nothing is sent to any server or AI — all processing happens locally on your device. Your voice never leaves your computer or phone.

This keeps things fast, private, and free. If there's enough interest, we may explore AI-powered features (smarter commands, natural language, recipe timers) as a premium upgrade down the road.

Zone names you can say

You can refer to zones naturally — here are the recognized names:

Labels

When setting a timer, you can add a label (e.g. "pasta", "garlic bread"). The label shows in the summary bar and is spoken when the timer expires. Labels are especially useful for general timers.

Drag & drop

Drag a timer from one burner to another to move it. The timer keeps counting while you drag.

Night mode

Tap the moon icon in the bottom bar to dim the interface for low-light cooking.

Custom background

Open the ⚙ Layout panel and scroll to Custom Background. Tap Upload Background to pick a photo from your device. The image is resized and stored locally — it won't be uploaded to any server.

Once a background is set, you can fine-tune it with two sliders:

• Overlay — controls the darkness of the overlay on top of the image (0% = fully visible, 100% = completely dark). Helps keep text readable.
• Blur — applies a blur effect to the background image (0–20px). Useful for hiding detail in busy photos.

Tap Remove to go back to the default dark theme.

Voice alerts

Tap the speaker icon to toggle spoken alerts. When on, the app will announce when timers start and expire. This setting is saved across visits.

Use the tabs at the top to show Stove only, Oven only, Timers only, or All at once.

Timers persist

All timers survive page refreshes. If you accidentally close the tab, your timers continue counting in the background. They'll be restored when you come back.
